Here is a brief item from the Gunnison News-Democrat, July 15, 1882, that I believe scuttles the Wyatt Earp-killed-John Ringo story as well: Messrs. Holliday remained in Pueblo for a while, and on June 16, 1882, he checked into the St. James Hotel in Gunnison. Cochise County Sheriff Johnny Behan received warrants from a Tucson judge for arrest of the Earps and Holliday.
